The Susicorn Startup Competition identifies promising startups and business ideas emerging from and ready to build their future in Greater Joensuu region, with the ambition to grow into an internationally scalable company: a Finnish Susicorn.

Competition is open to entrepreneurs, startups, students, researchers, and innovators ready to build and scale new business from the Joensuu region.

Susicorn (wolfcorn in English) refers to a high-growth-potential startup unicorn, representing innovation, courage, and ambition. The competition serves as a launchpad from early business ideas to future unicorns.

This is your moment to take your business idea toward unicorn potential and step into the spotlight as one of the next rising startups from the Greater Joensuu region. 

The winner will be awarded a prize worth €15,000 and a spot on stage at the national FiBAN Pitch Finland 2026 event in spring. For details on the criteria for awarding the monetary prize, please see the Susicorn Competition website.

How to Enter the Susicorn? 

• Download the official Susicorn Pitch Deck Template in PowerPoint format using the link below.

• Prepare and complete your startup pitch content in English.

• Export the completed Pitch Deck as a PDF file.

• Submit your entry by completing the Susicorn Competition Form and uploading your Pitch Deck in the designated upload section by 31 January 2026 at 23:59.

• You may complete and submit the Competition Form before your Susicorn Pitch Deck is ready, as long as the completed Pitch Deck is uploaded by the submission deadline.

• After submitting your competition entry, you will receive a confirmation email allowing you to review and update your submission before the submission deadline.

Key Participation Notes

• Submitting a completed Susicorn Pitch Deck is mandatory.

• Individuals and teams may submit 1–3 startup entries. Each startup or business idea requires a separate Competition Form and Pitch Deck.

• Only entries that include both the Susicorn Competition Form and the completed Susicorn Pitch Deck will proceed to Business Joensuu’s evaluation.
